What is Voice the Vote?

Voice the Vote helps you use your voice, cast your vote, and shape your community in the municipal election on October 26th, 2026.

Your municipal government makes choices that impact your housing, transit, parks, roads, community safety, and much more. While municipal elections are often overlooked, they hold the power to shape our daily lives.

Through community events, grassroots micro-grants, leadership training, and educational resources, Voice the Vote invites you to get informed, get involved, and make your voice heard.

Voice the Vote is powered by The Democratic Engagement Exchange at TMU and United Way Greater Toronto, working with people and partners across Peel Region, Toronto, and York Region.

Democracy Starts With Community.
When we learn together, vote together, and look out for each other, we build a democracy where everyone has a seat at the table.
Community Starts With Voice.
You know your neighbourhood best because you live here every day. Whether it’s rent, parks, libraries, buses, or safety, you belong in the conversation.
Voice Goes Beyond A Vote.
Municipal decisions shape your daily life. Through voting and participating in elections, your experiences and priorities can shape the conversation leading up to October 26th and beyond.
Voting Starts With Care.
When we show up and speak up, we are taking care of our families, our friends, and our future. Voice the Vote exists to make sure these voices are heard and turned into action.
